As promised long ago, here are some knitting projects, old and new, not previously listed here. I'll start with my most recent completed project:

Here is my latest finished project, a Litla Dimun shawl from the Faroe Islands (pattern by Cheryl Oberle from her book Folk Shawls) in Superfine 3 ply Alpaca Sportweight, color Charcoal. I oringally planned this one for me, but Lynne liked it so much that I passed it on to her instead.

Lace detail from above project.

The blanket I knit my nephew during the summer of 2006. The pattern is Cabled Eyelet Baby Blanket by Nancy Hearne, knit in Bernat Softee Baby (pale blue). He still uses it more than 2 years later.

Socks for my BIL for Christmas: Retro Rib Socks by Evelyn Clark, from Interweave Knits' Favorite Socks book, in Knitpicks Essential Sock Yarn (color Ash)

This is the first shawl I knit (a gift for my MIL who is wearing it in the picture): Pattern is the Aran Pocket Shawl by Cheryl Oberle from Folk Shawls. The yarn is Paton's Classic Wool Merino, in the color Winter White. I knit this in the winter of 2006.

Clog socks: The pattern is Beatrix by Gigi Silva (this pattern is only available in the Ravelry archive as the designer is dead). I used Memories Sock yarn by Knitpicks in the Redwood Forest colorway.

The shawl I knit while I was doing fetal monitoring: Pattern is Aran Weight Victorian Lace Shawl by Michelle Ciccariello in Knitpicks Merino Style, color Pine. This shawl also went to my MIL.

Bethy's Sweater: Sitcom Chic by Bonne Marie Burns in Bernat Cottontots, color Sun Shine. That's my sister in the picture.

Right now I'm working on yet another Sitcom Chic (3rd time I've knit the pattern) for my MIL, using a cotton/synthetic blend from Knitpicks.

What awesome pictures!! Bethy looks amazing in that sweater. Also, I've wanted to try the shawl with the pockets that you made for your mil.

I wish I lived close to you so that I could see how you do it! My knitted stuff never turns out quite as nicely as I'd like. I'm sure that it's mostly because I don't do enough of it - I'll knit a little, then I'll sew a little, then I'll write a little. It's why I don't do any of the three really well!

The Aran pocket shawl is basically a long rectangle patterned with seed stitch blocks separated by strips of knitting. Do you have a copy of Folk Shawls?

No, but I've flipped through it several times at both Joanns and my LYS. It has such lovely-looking patterns (though some are a little intimidating to me). Ive been waiting until I finished the socks that I'm knitting* and made an outfit for a Sphinx cat (been on my to knit list for two years!)

* how do you get them done so quickly? I'm on the instep part of the sock and it feels like it's taking forever compared with the ankle and heel part.
